This course is a practical five-day assessment. Before attending the course candidates must either have completed the summer Mountain Leader training course or been granted exemption from training by the Mountain Leader Training Board.

- Expedition preparation and route planning

- Navigation, leadership and expedition skills
- Night navigation and overnight camp

Continue on expedition
- Navigation, leadership and expedition skills
- Overnight camp

Day 5
|
Return from expedition
- River Crossing
- Individual debriefs
- Course ends approximately 4pm
